Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. In June 2009 this grade 1 listed aqueduct became a world heritage site. It is an awe inspiring feat of construction and engineering built by Thomas Telford & William Jessop.........125 feet high and 1000 ft long.

One of the "7 wonders of Wales", Llangollen Bridge. Reputed to be the site of the first stone bridge to cross the river Dee. It was built in 1345 and then rebuilt in Elizabethan times.

Another of the "7 wonders of Wales" is Pistyll Rhayader waterfall at Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant,Powys, 'the hidden pearl of Wales'. The tallest single drop waterfall in Wales,Scotland & England at 80 m (240 ft), some 20 miles from Bloom cottage over scenic mountain country lanes. There is a picnic area, cafe,car park and lots of walks along the riverside.

Dinas Bran castle is to be seen above Llangollen. Built in the 13th Century.

Plas Newydd was the home of Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponsonby from 1780 until 1829. They were known as "The ladies of Llangollen" in society.They brought Gothic features to Plas Newydd,and the house is now a museum. It is situated near to the town centre. The trailing paths and streamside walks through the beautiful grounds,all add to its unique attraction and style.
